Eid and Thanksgiving

This break has passed by a little too quickly for my liking. Even though our break has started on Wednesday and i didn't have class on Wednesday, i still feel like it was yesterday that i was in class...
but now here i am, all over again, studying. I cannot wait for our Winter Break to begin, that way I won't have to study anything for a really long time--3 WEEKS!!! aaah, almost like heaven... uhh, not really

So this break, we celebrated two holidays as both Americans and then as Muslims. The first holiday was Thanksgiving, and as you already know, it is celebrating the pilgrims arrival. We went over a friend's house. That was really fun, we have been going for almost 3-4 years now. Since we have no extended family living in the US, we usually get together.

The second holiday is a Muslim one that we celebrate for 3 days. It is the same day that Prophet Abraham (if you know this story) was tested by being told to sacrifice his son, but was given a lamb instead. In Arabic, this holiday is called Eid. We have a lot of fun with our family on Eid, but this one was even better because my grandparents were with us (for the first time). We went to Zap Zone lazer tag, bowling, watched a movie, and just hung out together. I love this time we have together, since my parents, siblings, and I are always busy with either work or school. These days we all agree not to busy ourselves with anything but spending time together. And of course, the best part of the day is the gifts. ;p
